ORIGINAL EDITION and first printing of the 35 aquatint-engraved views finely colored at the time by Mathias-Gabriel Lory Fils, accompanied by explanatory texts by Neuchâtel cartographer and publisher J. F. d'Osterwald (1773-1850). Very fine views, including Geneva, Sion, Brieg, the Simplon hospice, Villa, Lake Maggiore, Isola Bella, Arona and Sesto. VERY PRETTY EXAMPLE, nicely bound circa 1840.
