In-8, blue half-calf, spine decorated, marbled edges. (Contemporary binding). FIRST ISSUE: Important 80-page preface by Gérard de Nerval in the original edition. It is adorned with a portrait-frontispiece and 200 woodcut drawings by Edouard de Beaumont, and 6 surprisingly modern hors textes taken from the original. Pleasant and fresh romantic half-binding (light mottling on the edge of the first few pages). Carteret, Le Trésor du bibliophile romantique et moderne, 1801-1875, III, p.135.
