ROGER-MARX (Cl.). La Loïe Fuller. Estampes modelées de Pierre Roche. P., Les Cent Bibliophiles, 1904. In-4, ff, ill. cover, ed. bookplate. First edition illustrated with 19 color gypsographs in the text, including a double-page cover by Fernand Massignon, known as Pierre Roche, depicting the famous dancer. He is the inventor of this embossed print or gypsography process (printing on moistened paper from a plaster mold), used here for the first time. Edition of 130 numbered copies on vélin fort de Rives. This astonishing achievement marks a milestone in the history of the illustrated book, and is one of the most successful attempts at graphic research in the history of the Modern Style. It is printed in the italic typeface created by Georges Auriol, for whom it is the first use. A rare item.
