ONE OF 150 COPIES ON HOLLANDE VAN GELDER PAPER, NUMBERED. After the immense success of Le Diable au corps, Radiguet worked hard on his second novel, Le Bal du comte d'Orgel. Stricken by typhoid fever, which took his life, he unfortunately only lived to see the printing proofs of his book. It was published a few months after his death, with a preface by Jean Cocteau: "Le Diable au corps, ce chefd'oeuvre de promesses, et les promesses tenus: Le Bal du comte d'Orgel". A FINE COPY.
