ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MODERN ILLUSTRAL BOOKS: First illustrated edition, with 4 original etchings and 30 woodcuts in the text by Auguste Lepère. Copy on vellum à la forme, with 12 additional etchings (including a frontispiece) illustrating the Bièvre and the Saint-Séverin district, of which only 75 were printed, most signed in pencil by the artist. A superb copy, bound in the period, having belonged to the painter and engraver Félix Bracquemond.
