BRAQUE (Georges). La Théogonie d'Hésiode, Paris, Vollard, 1930. In-fol. (525 x 370mm), nigger-head morocco, maroq. strips and pieces in various colors and mosaics in calf in 5 shades of blue, full title on spine, chocolate suede lining and endpapers, gilt on witnesses, slipcase with maroq. lined folder (Paul Bonet). COMPLETE SUITE of 16 original etchings by Georges Braque in superb proofs of the 1st state, before the cutting of the copperplates and with marginal sketches. Only 50 copies of these suites were printed on Van Gelder paper, with only 10 plates signed and numbered. ONE OF THREE EXEMPLIES CONTAINING THE LAST SIX PLATES ALSO SIGNED (see Engelberts: Catalogue de l'oeuvre graphique de Braque) to which has been added: 1. A 17th plate, previously unpublished, on "A. Vollard" watermarked paper. 2. An etching for the frontispiece (Ed. Maeght) in three different states, trial proofs, including two in two colors. 3. A signed receipt from Braque to M. Vollard for three copperplates of the "Théogonie". 4. An autograph letter signed by Galanis to M.
