TOPFFER (Rodolphe). Voyages en zigzag, ou excursions d'un pensionnat en vacances dans les cantons suisses 50 livraisons à 30 cent. Paris, J.J. Dubochet, 1844. Gd. in-fol. high (slight trace of fold in center, and of binding). This important and rare Romantic poster, printed on buff paper, entirely lithographed (Villain lith.) is covered with a composition by Calame, inspired by the work, which was reproduced in M. Maindron's "Les Affiches illustrées" (1886, p. 71) and quoted in this work (p. 86) "Et Calame! Isn't there anything younger and more delightful than his Voyages en zigzag compositions? These are real paintings, and not the least charming of those he has left us.
