In-8 raisin, red marocco, spine with 5 ornate nerves, framed with 6 bold and thin gilt threads on the boards with corner fleurons and on the sides, lined with green marocco with red marocco listel and frieze of florets framing a repeating decoration composed of dark green marocco and gilt frogs, plain bright red silk endpapers, double endpapers, gilt on witnesses, cons. cover, slipcase (Carayon).
ORIGINAL EDITION and first printing of this work "One of the most beautiful books by Edouard Pelletan and one of the rarest" (Talvart et Place, XII, pp. 236-237).
Edition of 153 copies, numbered (25), ONE OF 20 ON CHINESE (nominative), to which has been added one of the 12 separate suites, also on China, of all the illustrations and an autograph bill signed by the author (Nice, s. d.).
