NORVINS (de). History of Napoleon. Vignettes by Raffet. P., Furne, 1839. Large tall folio. Original lithograph signed by Raffet (Giacomelli, 121), dated 1838, without any lettering, with the address of the printer Auguste Bry (print run 1840-1841), reported by Giacomelli as very rare, it was reproduced by M. Maindron in "Les Affiches illustrées" (1886, p. 63). The Emperor is depicted on a white horse, at rest, wearing the frac of the Chasseurs de la garde, holding a lorgnette in his left hand, with a guide of the guard in the background (Superb blacks, a few broken folds).
