ORIGINAL EDITION of this important work by Th. Gautier, with a fine woodcut frontispiece by Louis Boulanger. ONE OF THE VERY RARE EXEMPLES PRINTED ON LARGE VELIN PAPER, with the frontispiece printed on Chine, to which has been attached the autograph manuscript, signed by Th. Gautier, of the Pastel piece (bound opposite the printed version, p. 119). Elegant binding by Gayler-Hirou, Barbey d'Aurevilly's regular bookbinder, executed circa 1875.
