FIRST ISSUE of this important and rare work, one of the finest on this region, containing 286 lithographs printed off-text by or after Aumont, Jean Philippe, Joubert, Mingaud, Larroque and others. Portraits, details of monuments, but above all an irreplaceable collection of views of towns and villages in the Landes, Gers, Gironde and Lot-et-Garonne regions in the mid-19th century. The views are lively and attractive. 5 plates are colored at the time (including 3 of Costumes de Paysans du Périgord et de l'Agençais and 2 plates of mosaics), 3 plates included in this copy are not mentioned in the tables.
