Nantes, Charpentier, Père, fils & Cie, s.d. [1829-1831]. 2 volumes in-4 bound in one volume, long-grained green half-maroq with corners, ornate spine, cons. delivery covers (period binding). Very rare complete collection of 120 lithographed, colored and gummed costume plates: these offer a picturesque panorama of the various costumes of the western regions of France, such as Normandy, Aquitaine and especially Brittany. Nicely complete with the unnumbered folio (lithographed table). EXCEPTIONALLY FRICULT EXAMPLE, rebacked in a contemporary binding, with the covers of the 20 issues printed on different-colored paper and lithographed, some with vignettes (some spots).
