Military COSTUMES (Revolution). Garde Nationale and Armée de la Révolution. S.l.n.d. (Paris, circa 1789). Pet. in-4, in ff. slipcase with red half-chagr. folder, corners, title in full. Collection of 14 plates (officers and enlisted men) etched in a very summary manner, entirely colored and gouached at the time, with handwritten captions (the top of the plates bears a handwritten number from II to XV). Very interesting pieces, given the scarcity of documents from this period, and extremely rare. The first plate was probably intended as an engraved title, which was never executed as publication was interrupted. All plates are carefully mounted on greenish paper passe-partout.
