"The ovoid form, a constant in his sculptural work, gives surfaces a continuity that allows light to flow. The fullness of the volume gives the artist the possibility of using the play of light by exhibiting it in certain places in the studio, or by photographing it from different angles. As V. G. Paleolog writes, Brancusi wanted to "sculpt with light": "He can initiate a new age of sculpture - radiant sculpture [......], but with the help of light, this fluid material whose purpose would no longer be to add to the concrete material of metal, but whose mission would be to burst forth impetuously from the very bosom of the material, as if it were freeing itself from it, according to the will of the sculptor, whose creative role would be to regulate this emission of light by means of planes and converging points appropriate to the goal!"
