Very rare work, entirely lithographed, the first to come off the presses installed by Cte de Lasteyrie, the main promoter of lithography in France, at the request of Cte de Cazes, for use by the Ministère de la Police générale. Frontispiece portrait of Henri IV, ORIGINAL LITHOGRAPHY BY BARON GERARD, title, dedication and ten facsimiles of autograph letters. The portrait of Henri IV in this copy is different from some of the others; here, the king's head and gaze are turned to the left, and below the subject we read "Dessiné d'après Gérard" ("Drawn after Gérard").
