In-4 bound in black box, boards decorated with a juxtaposition of geometric shapes in white and gray box covered with crossed fillets, ornate spine, gilt edges on witnesses, gray box lining and endpapers, cover and spine preserved, folder, slipcase (Pierre-Lucien Martin rel.). ORIGINAL EDITION of these poems by a volunteer who fell in the Argonne in 1914. Edition of 100 copies, numbered on Johannot paper, signed by the artist and sent to Marcel Lecomte. FIRST ILLUSTRATED BOOK by Jacques Villon, with 17 original engravings, including 16 etchings, most of them hors texte. An original drawing on tracing paper: Autoportrait, signed, dated 1934 and dedicated to Herbel, inserted in the book.
