Very handsome volumes illustrated by Turner and Stothard with numerous fine steel engravings, interspersed in the text or on full pages. First-edition copies, in superb condition; the illustrations in the first volume are before the artists' names. From the L. de Montgermont library (sale May 11, 1912, cat. no. 251).

In-8, 77 pp, beige charge., boards decorated with a gilt frame of rocaille irons and garlands enclosing in the corners the aces of clubs, hearts, spades and diamonds as well as figures of jacks, dr. thread and wide cold thread on the edges, long spine decorated with rocaille irons, int. dent. gilt (Capé).
ORIGINAL EDITION of this amusing poem on the game of the hot-water bottle, very well printed and printed in small numbers and by subscription for members of a circle in the rue des Pyramides (here M. Philippon).
VERY CURIOUS AND FRESH CAPE BINDING, WITH EMBLEMATIC IRONS. A copy in an identical binding, once owned by Rachel, was in the library of Laurent Pichat.
