Six parts in one vol. in-18, glazed blue calf, cold pattern on covers framed by gold fillet, three-nerve spine decorated in gold and cold, small dent. with intér. roulette, white moiré paper endpapers, gilt edges (Rel. of the period). Delightful edition. It is illustrated with a second title page with gilt lettering and adorned with a vignette and six figures engraved on metal by Nargeot after Dubouloz and finely illuminated by hand in gold and color. These charming scenes are brilliantly colored and remarkably fresh.

ORIGINAL EDITION, very rare, of this charming children's book, illustrated with 6 delightful
lithographs, after Jules David, L. Janet, Jourdy, finely colored at the time.
The author, born in 1807, founded the Journal des Enfants, then the Gazette des Enfants et des jeunes personnes; a friend of Louis Desnoyers, he published a whole series of works for young people (Gumuchian, 2857 and pl. 221).
