PRECIOUS DEDICATION EXEMPLAIRE TO MELLE CLAIRON, LA CELEBRE TRAGEDIENNE (1723-1803), in a remarkable state of preservation, to which has been added a superb autograph letter from the great actress (one 1/2 page in-4, signed with her cipher stamp), addressed to Marmontel, in which she expresses all her affection for him, but complains of his silence, which pains her: "Have you been unaware of all the sorrows you have caused me (involuntarily, but which I finally see) that these same sorrows have kept me in bed for six weeks at all costs? ". She only complained to M. de Filleul, who reported it to Marmontel. "I praise myself today for having made them to her, since she has given them back to you, and because of the care you have taken to justify yourself, I am still able to count on a friend who was, is and will be dear to me, until the last moment of my life...". (Engraved portrait, colored, added).
