A Postdam, chez Chrétien Horvath, 1799-1800. 14 in-8 books bound in one volume, long-grained red morocco, smooth spine ornamented, dent. on boards, dent. intér. and on edges, gilt tr. (Rel. anc.). This work contains 160 hors texte plates engraved by Schmidt, most of them with two figures, in superb, fresh period gouache colors with gold and silver highlights. Our copy is complete with all the plates mentioned in the tables, plus four others not mentioned, but the number of plates may vary from one copy to another; that of the famous Ch. Delacre collection was sold as complete with only the 156 plates mentioned in the tables. (Colas, 1486). A VERY FINE COPY IN CONTEMPORARY MOROCCO.
