Large in-8, green percaline boards, on the first plate a large gilt and mosaic plate with orientalist decoration with title stamped in the centre, cold frame and gilt composition on the second plate, smooth spine decorated with a long plate, gilt edges. (Binding of the publisher). 20 finely engraved steel plates representing views and monuments of Constantinople and the Bosphorus. BEAUTIFULLY BOUND IN THE PUBLISHER'S POLYCHROME BOARDS. The large plate on the first plate is signed Lenègre. On the second, a nice gilt composition representing Scheherazade and her sister at the foot of the sultan's bed: this one is a copy of the plate by Mugnerot for the publisher's binding of the Thousand and One Nights of 1840.
