ORIGINAL EDITION of the most important book on Spain ever published at that date. Initiated to the Spanish culture by his father, Jean-Joseph de Laborde (1724-1794), Louis Joseph visited Spain on several occasions accompanied by draughtsmen and artists to list Spanish and Arab monuments, remains and mosaics. Published in 48 issues during 14 years, this work is often incomplete. SUPERB EXAMPLE ON LARGE VELIN PAPER, containing the plates in very first proof, very beautiful, with small proofs, of great beauty, with a small parallelogram with a simple line.
