Medal of voluntary services in Free France, created in 1946, in silver plated bronze in the shape of a cross of Lorraine, marked: "18 June 1940/3 May 1945". Period 1946. Very good condition. Memories of Major General Pierre Billotte (1906/1992): Second World War and Algerian War, Grand Officer of the Order of the Legion of Honor, Croix de Guerre 1940, Medal of the escapees, Cross of the Liberation, Companion of the Liberation on November 8, 1944, second in command and then commander of the armored brigade of the Leclerc Division. He landed in Normandy on August 7, 1944, and was made a brigadier general in September 1944. On November 11, 1944, General de Gaulle awarded him the Liberation Cross. Major General in March 1946, Member of Parliament from April 3, 1967 to April 2, 1978, Minister of Overseas Territories from January 8, 1966 to April 1, 1967, Minister of State from 1967 to 1968, Mayor of Créteil from 1965 to 1977.
